Gallery Talks
Several gallery talks will be held throughout the 2010 Eclipse gallery exhibition season. These are informal talks given by artists who participate in the various shows. On occasion there may also be talks by artists who are visiting here at the mill on a short term residency program. All talks will be held in the Eclipse gallery. They are free and open to the public. Scheduled dates are shown below:
Sunday, April 18th, from 3-4 pm
Len Poliandro will give a gallery talk about his sculptural works. Len's work is on exhibit in the show "When My Soul Dances", and can be viewed during his talk.
Sunday, May 9, from 3 -4 pm
"Painting: Dancing With My Subconscious" - A gallery talk by Dawn Nelson. Dawn's abstract paintings are also on exhibit in the show "When My Soul Dances".
Sunday, June 27, from 3 - 4 pm
In conjunction with the exhibition "Abstraction Now", Ed Carson will give a gallery talk about abstract painting.
Sunday, July 11, from 3 - 4 pm
Katharine Borkowski-Byrne will give a gallery talk about her abstract work, which also appears in the "Abstraction Now' exhibition.
Sunday, July 25, from 3 - 4 pm
A gallery talk by Norm Thomas, in conjunction with his retrospective exhibition.
Tuesday, August 17, from 6 - 7 pm (rescheduled from Sunday, August 15)
Tamara Kay is a metalsmith visiting the mill on a residency program. She writes "I am a metalsmith. By that, I mean that I heat, forge, dap, twist, emboss, etch, and fabricate precious metals into one of a kind pieces of wearable art.
Movie Night (free and open to the public)
Movie Night is an informal 16mm film series hosted by Rich Remsberg, where he screens vintage educational films, drivers ed classics, mental hygiene movies, animation, and industrial films. It is held most Sunday evenings at 8 in the Eclipse Mill Gallery on the first floor (loft# 102).
For those who are interested in attending movie night Rich sends out a group email each week with what's playing (or whether he's taking a night off). To get on Rich's movie night email list just click on the 'contact us' link in the upper right corner of this page and ask to be added to his list.
Monday Night Portrait Drawing 7 - 8:30 pm (free and open to the public)
Eclipse Mill Gallery, #102
Come to the Eclipse Mill for informal portrait drawing sessions every Monday night. Bring your materials and come practice your drawing skills as artists take turns posing for short periods.
