Irving Slavid Restoration Projects

Irving Slavid has been engaged over the winter with the Lost Shul Mural Project of Ohavi Zedek Synagogue, in preparation for the upcoming relocation of “one of the only surviving examples in the world of Eastern European synagogue folk art.” (http://lostshulmural.org/) See more here: Samuel Gruber’s Jewish Art & Monuments.

Closer to home, restoration work continues on the Colegrove Park Elementary School project. One aspect of the project is the rescue of three plaques depicting the U.S. Shield, the Great Seal of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and the North Adams city seal, which bears the legend, “We hold the Western Gateway.
