2014 North Open Studios Weekend Press Release

The Eclipse Mill, 243 Union Street in North Adams, will be hosting North Adams Open Studios, Saturday, October 18th and Sunday, October 19th. Artist studios will be open to the public from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. on Saturday and 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. on Sunday. More than 25 resident artists are participating this year. Art for sale, exhibitions, literary readings and artist demonstrations are all part of the weekend celebration. The event has grown and diversified every year since it began in 2006.

The Eclipse Mill will also be hosting guest artists, joining mill residents, to display art in the hallways. “It’s a really fun event where the community gets to see what the artists do in their studios,” said Stacey Hetherington, Open Studios Chair this year. “The artists enjoy the opportunity to share their creativity.”

An interactive map, showing which studios are open at what hours and special events for each studio, will be available at the Mill, as well as on the North Adams Open Studios Facebook page. The Eclipse Mill website also has a link to Open Studios, as well as artist profiles and other relevant information.

The event is funded in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and the City of North Adams.
